If you like the idea of getting really out there, on almost any terrain, but also enjoy the creature comforts of a luxury automobile, the new 1of1 Vans Mojave is for you.

Built on the Mercedes Sprinter 4WD chassis, it’s given a 4″ lift and massive 35″ tires with upgraded suspension and brakes to handle it. Plus a winch and full-size spare. Ground clearance is impressive. Here’s the rest of the exterior mods…

1of1 Mojave Exterior & Suspension

The exterior of the vehicle is covered in a “Body Ballistic Coating”, likely similar to LineX but smooth, and it extends to the inner door jams for a cohesive look.

It’s outfitted with a snorkel, limb risers (the cables leading from the front of the hood to top of windshield to protect the glass from tree branches), a sliding surfboard carrier, a customized Thule Surf Box, and Backwoods Adventure Mods’ front and rear bumpers and roof rack. The gas tank has been upgraded to a massive 48-gallon tank for extended off-grid trips.

The full-size spare is mounted on a mini winch to help lower it to the ground (and get the flat tire back up to the mount). A full-power, full-sized front winch sits behind the bumper.

Lighting includes six 60W lights facing forward, plus area lights on sides and back, front bumper fog lights, rear assist lights, and under-body rock lights.

The suspension is upgraded with 6500lb leaf springs, secondary strut kits, Baja shock brackets, Hellwig sway bar, locking differential, and 20×12″ bead lock rims holding 35×12″ Toyo Open Country tires.

1of1 Mojave Interior

Inside, it’s all luxury, with premium leather & Alcantara covering the dash, seats, and alloy cupboards, teak hardwood counter & tables, dual 800-watt sound systems (one inside, one outside, both with 250W subwoofers!) with Alpine head unit, diesel air and water heater integrated into factory vents, and 4-season insulation and sound damping.

There’s also a fridge, freezer, induction stove, portable toilet, and folding shower.

Powering all of that is a massive 630Ah lithium power bank with 220Ah backup AGM battery system, dual high-output alternators to charge it all, and a 3000-watt inverter to manage it. Optional solar panels can stack up to 400W of off-grid charging.

There’s two 20-gallon freshwater tanks, a 9-gallon gray water tank, and 5-gallon drinking water system. The kitchen has a 14″ sink, and there’s a drain pan floor for the shower area.

Air conditioning comes from a 2kW rooftop unit plus MaxxAir vent fan and internal Scirocco fan. The rooftop storage slides back and ramps down for easier access and removal.

Pricing & availabilty

The Mojave can be customized with some or all of the above mentioned features to create your own version of a luxury off-road camper van. Expect to spend $130k to $280k on top of the base price for a new van, up to about $350,000 before adding any extra-special finishes or materials.
