We got a sneak peak at some of Yakima’s 2025 products at SEMA (check out the video here), and now they’re official and (mostly) available.
The highlights are the new SkyPeak HD hardshell RTT and massive OverNOut 270º awning, a self-supported canopy with a huge amount of shade. Here’s all the deets…
SkyPeak HD rooftop tent
The all-new SkyPeak HD hardshell rooftop tent ($2,999, 180 lbs) is Yakima’s first hardshell RTT, and it has all the features.
T-track slots on the sides and top make it easy to add accessories, like their awnings and cross bars, so you can add bikes, kayaks, and other gear…up to 300lbs worth! They also offer a covered annex room if you want to create a changing room before climbing inside.
It has three-sided access, and inside are dimmable USB-powered lights, dual pass-through slots for A/C or heaters, solar panel wiring management, organization pockets, and memory foam mattress with removable cover and anti-condensation mat.
Dimensions are 85″ x 58″ x 6.5″ closed, and peak interior height when open is 67.5″.
Need something lighter? The Yakima SkyRise SL gets a few updates and comes in at just 121 lbs. Both it and the larger, tougher SkyRise HD (131.5 lbs) feature quick deployment, a comfy memory foam mattresses, and panoramic views.
All three come with their new custom barefoot comfortable ladders with gently rounded steps, too.
OverNOut awnings
Yakima’s awning collection grows with two new sizes, the OverNOut 180 (top photo) and 270 XL (above). Both are self-supporting, but come with legs and tethers for windy conditions or heavy rains. Key specs are:

Both use 420D poly-cotton fabric with PU coating and tuck into a PVC-free 820D cover. optional full wall kits, these awnings ensure mother nature never rains on your parade. Full Wall Kits are available for the new styles.
Cargo boxes
The new SkyBox NX Skinny (above) offers a slim 26″ profile, perfect for skis and snowboards, shovels, and other narrow things. Or for adding a little cargo while leaving plenty of room for a bike (or two) or kayak.
The new, much larger SkyBox NX XXL has a massive 22 cubic feet of space for gear-heavy expeditions.
Not shown, the new CBX LG and XXL models add more size options to their premium painted cargo boxes, which have a shiny automotive-grade finish.
The new LowRider trailer ($1,999) moves the cargo space to the back of the car, designed specifically for kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards. It has adjustable crossbar positions, fully submersible LED lighting, available alloy wheels, and a 750-pound capacity.
Bike racks
The updated StageTwo platform hitch bike rack gets a new V-shaped tray keeps wheels centered, making loading easier, especially when paired with the RampUp accessory, which now stores directly on the rack.
Weight capacity is increased to 70 lbs per bike (for 2″ hitches; off-road rated to 42lbs per bike), and it fits a wider range of wheelbases (30″ to 52″). MSRP is $849, weight is 63lbs, comes in two colors.
Now available (almost) everywhere
Everything here is available now save for the SkyPeak HD, which comes in April. And, for 2025, it’s available in more places thanks to expanded product availability across Europe and Australasia.
