With a whopping 13.3″ of ground clearance and a 9.8″ wider track, this Audi Q6 e-tron offroad concept vehicle teases what’s possible when their rally-winning Quattro platform is given a fully modern twist.
Built on their Q6 platform, it’s given custom, in-house developed portal axles that, combined with 33″ tires, add 6.3″ to the ride height. They also increase the torque to a massive 9,883 lb-ft driving through all four wheels!
That’s peak power, only lasting for 10 seconds, but it’s an increase of 3,245 lb-ft over stock figures for the Q6. Audi says most portal axles increase torque by 20-30%, but theirs boost it by 50%. This reduces the vehicle’s top speed to 108mph (175km/h), which is more than enough for everything but the Autobahn.
Dual electric motors (380kW total) drive those portals, which are integrated into the front and rear hub and wheel assemblies and managed with upgraded suspension links.
The increased torque and ground clearance let it pull itself perfectly vertical steps and inclines up to 45%.
Perhaps most exciting is that they say this is a taste of a potential vehicle in the progressive off-road segment. You can see it in action in the F.A.T. Ice Race on February 1, 2025.
