Will Auxbeam’s switch panels work for my setup?

power and amperage output ratings for Auxbeam switch panels.

Switch panels are designed to turn small electronics on and off from one convenient spot. All of them have multiple outputs from a power block that’s typically mounted under the hood, with a single control wire (often an ethernet cable or similar) to the switch panel with the icon buttons.

The outputs vary. Some more expensive models will run all outputs at up to 30A, but most items don’t need that much draw. For example, a 40″ Baja Designs light bar pulls about 28-29A, so you’d want to run that to the 30A output.

Auxbeam’s total output is 60A, with a single 30A output on both the 6- and 8-gang systems. Smaller lights and accessories can be run off the smaller Amp-rated outlets, so just check the power draw for your devices and connect accordingly.

Just note that if you were running everything at once, that’s 95 amps running through the distribution block, which is more than it’s rated for. So, if you’re running a TON of lights all at once, might be worth getting something like…

The Auxbeam AC-1200 RGB has more power

Even if you don’t need all of the extra buttons, the Auxbeam AC-1200 RGB has a higher 100A rating, with 2x30A, 4x20A, 3x10A and 3x5A outputs.

It’s currently $287.99 and comes with a remote control, plus there’s an app that lets you customize the background color of the buttons to any RGB color. There’s even a dedicated on/off button for the backlight on the panel itself, so you can go full dark at night.

NOTE: These prices are good as of 12p EST on October 23, 2024. Amazon’s deals frequently change, so jump on this if you want the best price. Even at regular MSRP, Auxbeam’s switch panels are considerably less expensive than their main competitors.
