Several brands had very lightweight new options for sleeping on your vehicle, from sub-100lb rooftop tents to truck bed campers made of coated styrofoam. Here’s the best new RTTs and truck bed shell campers and toppers we found at MOORE Expo 2025. Scroll down for more pics of each with links…

Tune Outdoor

Fitting a king size bed, the Tune Outdoor M1’s claim to fame is their wide body truck bed frame. Shown above and at the top of this post, the sides jut out to create more space, giving you more than a foot of extra room.

That lets it fit a larger mattress than most, while still having a ton of standing and living room inside…even on a short bed pickup! And its light – base weight is just 400lbs. Starts at $12,999 with lots of standard features, including installation (in Denver).

Inspired Overland

Inspired Overland’s new side-opening rooftop tent gives you a full 82″ length, three huge openings, and an internal crossbar frame to keep it sturdy.

Their original standard version weighs about 76lbs, making it one of the (if not thee) lightest rooftop tents on the market. They accomplish that with a few particular design features, which you’ll find on this new side-opening model, too.

The external shell is a soft-top tonneau cover material that zips shut. They offer a separate cover for extra protection if you’ll be driving through tight, tree-lined (and covered) trails.

The bottom uses an open frame with cross bars rather than a full aluminum or composite shell. A waterproof fabric sits above the beams to prevent moisture from getting inside, and the foam-and-air mattress smooths it out.

Weigh will be around 93lbs and will retail for around $1,400 or less, making it not just the lightest full-size rooftop tent, but also one of the most affordable! Available in June 2025.

Addax Outdoors

Addax Outdoors makes the most of your Jeep Gladiator with an all-metal truck bed topper with a unique roll-away tonneau cover that gives you full access to the rooftop tent when it’s installed, then rolls over the bed when you’re not bringing the tent.

It’s a clever design that gives you full utility of your truck bed when you need it, and covered, secure protection when that’s the priority.

The rear barn and side gullwing doors are steel, and the whole thing is made in the USA.

You can even order it through Jeep’s Mopar catalog, which means this thing’s got the official stamp of approval from the automaker!

Wombat Camper

Last but certainly not least is this wild folding, origami-like hardshell topper from Wombat Camper. The entire thing sits on top of your truck’s bed rails, leaving the space under it free for cargo.

Step into the rear hatch and you’ll find room for a queen size bed, small galley, and some storage. It’ll be sold as a shell so you can build it out however you like. When it’s time to roll, just pull the sidewalls inward, then pull the top down from the outside and it collapses in on itself.

It’s a prototype for now, but you can see it in action in the video above!
