If you’ve got a smaller vehicle with less roof space for cargo, the new BougeRV Modular Roof Rack Platform lets you pack all the gear and still add up to 150W of solar panels.
The design tucks a locking slide-out tray under the cargo platform, giving you room for one or two of their 75-watt CIGS solar panels.
Up top, you can load up to 170lbs (77kg) of gear and use the T-track slots to secure it. It mounts to any standard cross bars, making it easy to fit almost any vehicle.
Their CIGS solar panels use bypass diode technology, which allows it to continue to capture solar energy even in partial shade. They’re IP68 waterproof, and the structure is highly wind and load resistant.
The rack’s cargo platform measures 60.39″ L x 39.71″ W x 4.53″ tall, the base is slightly wider. Rack weight is not listed, but the solar panels are 10.6 lbs each.
MSRP is $699 for just the rack, or $909 with a single solar panel and $1,120 with two solar panels.
