DJI Power 2000 delivers massive power in rig-friendly size

If you’ve opted for a portable power station over a fully integrated dual-battery setup for your overland rig or van, the DJI Power 2000 is a compelling new option.

Barely bigger than the original 1024Wh model, it packs twice the power with the ability to boost up to 3000W of continuous power for high-demand appliances or power tools. And with 2,048Wh of juice inside, it’s enough for multi-day trips running a cooler, kettle and charging small electronics.

They say it’ll run your portable fridge for 38 hours, power a coffee maker for 110 minutes, or recharge your phone almost 120 times. It has a ton of outlets, too, so you can run all those things simultaneously if necessary. Ports include:

  • 4x AC
  • 4x USB-A
  • 4x USB-C
  • 2x SDC

The SDC ports are for inputs like solar panel adapters and car chargers, but also let you connect additional battery packs together or fast-charge select DJI drones.

It also recharges quickly, from empty to full in just 90 minutes when plugged into a standard wall outlet. You can also get the solar adapter to recharge it from solar panels at camp.

For fast charging on the move, the DJI Super Fast Car Charger hardwires into your vehicle’s starter battery and keeps the power station topped off while driving…and fully recharges it in just 145 minutes.

It uses LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery cells, which last almost forever (they claim 10 years of use with one full recharge per day). Intelligent battery management and safety electronics prevent overheating, overcharging and other things that could damage the unit or anything plugged into it.

It’s even made with flame retardant materials, and it’s nano-coated and internally protected against water, making it safe to use near water in the unlikely (but who knows these days) event that your campsite gets flooded.

The Power 2000 can be expanded with up to 10 additional 2048Wh Power Expansion Battery, reaching a maximum capacity of 22528Wh. That’s more than enough to run a built-in rooftop air conditioner through multiple nights, and making it a great option for home power outages, too. It even doubles as a UPS power backup for home electronics.
