The new Dobinsons Universal high-performance coil-overs and long-travel shock absorbers take all the good stuff from their popular vehicle-specific fits and offer it to fit almost any vehicle.
The new Universal kits have more than 40 different length and spring rate combinations, all built on their MRR/MRA shock bodies with three-way compression and rebound adjustments on external reservoirs.
Tech Specs & Options
They’re available in coil-over and smooth body shocks, each with 10″, 12″ and 14″ travel options. The coil overs use a dual-stage design with two separately springs, giving you more ways to tune their performance.
The Dobinsons Universal coil-overs/shocks use a 2.6″/66mm body housing a 2.35″/60mm high-flow CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum piston. It’s designed for coil springs that sport a 3″ inner diameter.
The adjustable remote reservoir has a 19.6″ hose and is manufactured with DOM 3mm wall steel tubing.
Dobinsons says they thoroughly and rigorously test its coil-over springs in-house for spring hardness and fatigue. This testing is said to include 100% load testing and scragging to “eliminate any potential spring sag”.
Three-way adjustable FTW
The MRR/MRA shocks give you separate high/low speed compression and low-speed rebound adjustments for every model in the lineup. All adjustments on on the remote reservoir, making them easy to reach for quick trailside adjustments.
High-Speed Compression – 10 Stage
High-speed compression primarily affects the compression damping during high-speed shaft movements such as harsh or square edge bumps and harsh vehicle landings. (click any image to enlarge)
Low-Speed Compression – 20 Stage
Low-speed compression primarily affects the compression damping during low-speed shaft movements such as vehicle pitch, dive and roll, wheel traction, and vehicle ride quality (harshness vs. plushness).
Rebound – 15 Stage
Rebound damping primarily affects vehicle traction, damper top-out and vehicle body movements such as vehicle pitch, dive, and roll.
