Earth Roamer debuts the new $850k LTX overland truck series

EarthRoamer LTx overland truck exterior.

Replacing the LTi series, the new EarthRoamer LTx is built on the Ford F-550 chassis using their house-made carbon fiber habitat.

New features include a forward main cabin door, under-bed pass-thru storage accessible from both sides, and a fixed rear storage system with tire mount. Here’s a complete walkthrough from its debut at SEMA 2024:

The updates make living with the truck easier than ever. Upgraded power, safety, and recovery features keep it easy to use off the grid. Key specs include:

The chassis is extended to allow for a larger habitat, then heavily reinforced to accommodate the weight. The entire vehicle comes in around 18,000+ pounds, depending on options. I asked, and estimated fuel economy is about 9-10mpg.

Airbag suspension at all four corners let you adjust ride height based on the terrain and auto-level the vehicle when it’s time to camp. Combined with the 43″ tires, clearance and angles are:

  • 12.5″ ground clearance
  • 30º approach angle
  • 22º departure angle
  • 14º breakover angle
  • 12′ maximum height / 11’6″ minimum height
  • 29′ vehicle length
  • 8′ vehicle width

A full complement of Baja Designs lights are found on the custom front bumper, windshield pillars, and roof.

The galley features InvisiCook cooktops, with induction burners built into the porcelain counter tops.

The dining area converts to a lounge and bedroom, and it’s available with L-shaped seating (shown) or two couches and a central table.

The bed over cab has a California King mattress with three windows plus vented skylight (which is large enough to double as an escape hatch). The interior is shown in their new Walnut wood option, but other materials are available, too.

Here’s a quick look at some of the other details (no audio):

All EarthRoamer LTx vehicles are built-to-order on brand new Ford chassis, giving you their standard 3-year/36,000-mile warranty with 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. The habitat and all EarthRoamer customizations include a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, too, including habitat and installed accessories.
