The latest Storyteller Overland Beast Mode Sprinter build is ready to rage with new suspension, wheel, tire, and lighting upgrades, with updated exterior accessories to fit the theme.
The off-road driving upgrade comes from an Evictus Performance Sprinter 2.65″ Prerunner suspension kit, with piggyback reservoirs front and rear and massively oversized steel monotube shock bodies. The good news? These will fit on any 2500-series 4×4 or AWD Sprinter, so you can build your own, too!
Custom mounting & support hardware reinforces the suspension and helps it maintain factory geometry. The suspension is fully rebuildable and easily serviced, too, using commonly available Bilstein seals.
It’s more than just seals, though. The product is engineered and manufactured by 4×4 Proyect using several Bilstein parts and tech.
Both front and rear add Bilstein’s “anti-cavitation” system, basically a secondary valve in the external reservoir to give them a broader tuning range.
It’s a fixed tune, there are no external adjustment knobs to keep it simple, and it’s a digressive tune, keeping firm around corners before opening up on the rough stuff to keep it smooth and controlled.
Oversized pistons are hard chrome plated, and the rear shocks use a threaded outer body and add an optional secondary coil spring. Sprinters use a leaf spring rear suspension, so this “helper” coil adds more support for fully built vans, and thanks to the threaded collar, can be used to make small ride height adjustments and increase the spring rate for more support.
The rear’s piggy back reservoir is also larger to hold more oil, taking advantage of the extra space available there. A custom 6mm-thick steel mounting bracket reinforces the frame and spreads the load to better handle off-road bumps and jolts. A second mounting bracket reinforces the leaf spring’s U-bolt mounts and adds a small skid plate in front of the lower shock mount.
The front’s reservoir is held parallel to the shock with an oversized alloy clamp. The kit has a 2-year/25,000 mile warranty and retails for $10,915. All parts bolt on to factory mounting points, no drilling or welding required. More at Evictus.com
The Storyteller Beast Mode van
With a clever play on words, Storyteller’s latest Mode van build is given a special “Beast” treatment with upgraded exterior lighting, bumpers and ladder, and Evictus’ 2.65″ PreRunner suspension kit. It’s also outfitted with Evictus rims and BF Goodrich KO3 tires.
Inside, the new 2025 builds come with lighter, more modern finishes and diffused, dimmable LED lighting.
Exterior graphics and branding are also updated, and new Flarespace nVader ladder and brush guard with intact factory parking sensors. A full KC HiLites lighting package provides 360º of lighting and comes with custom Storyteller covers.
