Whether you need to clear a campsite, dig out your tire, or just make a hole for potty time, the new Gerber Dredge is a folding shovel that’s easier to use than their much smaller Gorge model.
The Dredge sits 45″ tall when fully unfolded and locked into position, but the handle and shovel end both fold inward to a compact 25″ for easy storage. You can also lock the digging end at 90ยบ to use it as a hoe, perfect for scraping sand and mud out from in front of your tire.
The blade is forged carbon steel with ample foot pads for stomping it into the ground. The shaft has an aluminum rod core for strength, but covered with glass-filled nylon to reduce the likelihood that it scratches your rig. The handle is glass-filled nylon with a rubber grip on the end.

Weight is 6.75lbs, price is $150, and it comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
