IRONMAN 4X4 has released a new 3-inch IM2.5 suspension lift kit designed for Lexus GX470 & GX460 vehicles with and without KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System).
As a Lexus GX470 owner, this one’s particularly exciting for me. The IM2.5 suspension line was introduced earlier this year for several other vehicles, offering a 2.5″ shock that slots in between the heavier-duty Foam Cell Pro (2.8″ shock body) and base-level Nitro Gas (2.1″ shock body).
But it’s not just the shock body diameter that sets it apart, it’s actually tuned specifically for the type of driving most overlanders do. Meaning, lots of highway and daily miles, plus the ability to smooth dirt roads and also handle more aggressive terrain with a fully loaded vehicle.
The IM2.5 kit features monotube damper technology with 2.5-inch extruded aluminum construction with 57mm CNC-machined billet aluminum piston that provides 60% more surface area than conventional designs.
In comparison, the Nitro Gas lineup is a twin-tube design, which necessitates smaller internals to accommodate the inner sleeves. It’s also steel, versus the IM2.5’s alloy construction. Translation: the new IM2.5 should be stronger, more durable, and lighter.

Inside, velocity-sensitive damping adapts to varied terrain. The front struts use a threaded perch to let you adjust ride height to get up to 3″ of lift.
IM2.5 Lift Kit Stages
Installation options range from Stage 1 with basic lift components to Stage 4, which has everything you need to dial in the suspension for taller lifts. The front struts have a single spring rate to handle up to 220lbs, enough to handle the added weight of an off-road bumper and winch. Three different rear springs let you pick the right lift and support for your build.
