KC Hilites Platform One Roof Rack starts shipping

First spotted at Overland Expo West, the new KC HiLiTES Platform One (PL1) modular roof rack is now official and shipping.

Designed for off-road and overland vehicles, the rack combines a full-length platform with integrated lighting mounting points and a unique modular accessory system.

Where most other overland-style roof racks are designed around slim light bars, the Platform One is designed around a 50” row of KC Hilites’ signature round lights, and pushes them further forward than other racks.

Built-in mounting fits KC’s Gravity Pro6 and Titan light bars, and both of those systems let you connect them into straight or curved profiles.

That said, the rack and lights are sold separately, and it’ll work with most any style or brand of light bar you have.

Additional flush-mount side lights and rear-facing options let you create 360-degree illumination.

Mounting Options

T-Track lets you add other stuff to the sides and rear, too, with one caveat – if you’re using the side lighting slots, anything like an awning or water tube will need to mount higher to avoid blocking the lighting.

The top has an adjustable upper deck, making it easier to fine tune gear placement if you’re stacking smaller items.

Perimeter channels give you more options, and it’s compatible with rooftop tents, recovery gear, solar panels, etc.
