We didn’t see this one coming, but visiting the KC HiLiTes booth at Overland Expo West revealed their all-new Platform One Roof Rack series, and it’s big.
With a focus on cleanly integrating the lighting (because they are a light company, after all), the racks have clever power distribution systems and wiring channels built in, along with integrated side lighting and plenty of mounting points for pods, bars, and round lights.

Even better, they’re going all in on it, with massive vehicle support right out of the gate. Here’s the launch list of vehicle models:
- Toyota
- Tacoma – 2nd/3rd/4th gen
- LC250
- 4Runner – 5thgen
- Lexus
- GX470 (aka LC120)
- GX460 (aka LC150)
- GX550
- Ford
- F150 Supercrew (2015+)
- F150 Raptor (2017+)
- Super Duty (2017+)

They’ll also have roof racks for the Ford Bronco and latest 6th Gen 4Runner coming soon, too.
Specs & Details

Full specs and details are TBA, but here’s what we know:
- Integrated power block for easily powering multiple light sets
- Integrated side area lighting w/ white/amber switching
- 360º T-track slots on exterior, top, and interior faces

They’ll offer a variety of top deck platforms and mounts, too, with a modular design that lets you stack and shift cross bars to suit your needs. It’s shown in the video below with their Solar Charge Hub, which helps keep any 12V battery topped off, acting as a solar MPPT controller.
