When you want to take your bikes and keep your spare tire or gas tanks outside of the vehicle, the new Kuat Pivot HD is the answer.
Designed for heavier loads than their Pivot V2, the new Pivot HD boosts payload capacity up to 350lbs (versus 250lbs for V2).

Add the optional accessory hoop with MOLLE panel slots and throw your water and fuel tanks, traction boards, and other gear on there.

Or add the dedicated spare tire carrier to carry your full-size spare between the bike rack and the car thanks to a rear-leaning hoop design that doesn’t waste space between the vehicle and any bikes.
The Pivot HD upgrades to a larger, stronger hinge with locking pin design that holds it open at 90º and 120º when you’re parked.

The extra capacity and strength means you need a Class III hitch, and it’s currently only available with a passenger-side swing direction.

It adds about 15″ between your vehicle’s hitch and anything else you’re sticking into the receiver extension, so keep that (and the weight limit) in mind if you’re adding a 4-bike rack on it.
MSRP is $798, available soon. Pricing for accessory mounts TBA.
