New Luno Air Pad Pro is a tougher car-camping air mattress

luno air pad pro air mattress for car camping.

Basically impervious to the things that would poke holes in it (like dog paws, sticks on the ground, being run over with a car, etc.), the new Luno Air Pad Pro gets several big upgrades from the original model.

The new “Pro” version keeps the two-person layout, with a lightweight inflatable design that packs down small.

Compared to their standard Luno AIR Vehicle Mattress, the Air Pad Pro upgrades with:

  • Solo Zipper – split the mattress for solo adventures
  • Head Support Bridge Attachments – keeps it level and adds storage in the foot well
  • Coated bottom fabric – increased durability
  • Smaller, more powerful, 12V pump – inflates in two minutes
  • Reduced pack size by 15%
  • CloudSupport+ – Luno’s new and improved internal support

Perfect for warmer weather car camping, there’s no insulating foam like on their AIR+FOAM models. This one has an R-value of 1.5, compared to the FOAM model’s R11.

It’s a one-size-fits-most-vehicles design, accommodating people up to 6’2″. It’s shaped to fit around wheel wells then fill the space between rear doors on wagons and SUVs.

Luno doesn’t list actual inflated dimensions other than its 4″ thickness, but it packs down to 8″ x 26″ in its own stuff sack with a pocket for the pump. Total packed weight is 13lbs. User weight limit 500lbs per side.

MSRP is $379.99, available now with free shipping. Also check out their brilliant universal window screens to keep bugs out, and fitted sleeping bag comforters designed to fit these car mattresses perfectly.
