Great, what is all that stuff?
Basically, here’s what the main components do:
BCDC / Manager Alpha
Connects your auxiliary batteries to the starter battery (and thus, the alternator) to use your car to charge the extra battery while driving. Can also connect to solar and/or AC shore power to charge things up.
Controllers & Displays
Keeps power flowing where it should, whether that’s to the batteries to charge them, or to your devices when you need to power them. The RedVision display lets you monitor everything, and their app helps you control it.
Inverter
Turns 12V DC power into 110V AC power for household-type appliances.
Of course, you can put these kits in any vehicle, not just vans. But the parts and battery options will take up a lot of interior cargo space in smaller SUVs and trucks.
