RoamBuilt takes over van components from Backwoods Adventure Mods

Backwoods Adventure Mods acquired Roam Built in April 2024, and the brand has been pretty quiet since, likely busy moving everything from Portland to BAM’s Arkansas production facility and getting ready to roll.

Now, they’re back to shipping and have shifted all adventure van products to RoamBuilt, letting Backwoods Adventure Mods focus on products for Toyota trucks & SUVs.

Previously, Backwoods made off-road bumpers for both Sprinter and Transits. For now, though, van bumpers, ladders, etc., are limited to the Mercedes Sprinter platform, and remaining Ford Transit items can be found on BAM’s clearance page.

The move is to help them catch up with demand from Sprinter owners, but they told us that commercial customers like Vandoit, who order hundreds of bumpers at a time, can still get the popular low-profile Scout bumper for the Transit.

I'm a serial traveller who's crisscrossed the US more times than I can count. Current rigs are a '19 Vandoit Ford Transit camper van and an '05 GX470, both fully outfitted for off-road adventures, plus a healthy fleet of gravel bikes & MTBs. On two wheels or four, I love exploring the world from the backroads.
