Roof Space, which showed us the first-ever folding hardshell rooftop tent last fall, has just introduced the Roof Space 4, the “most spacious hardshell tent” on the market.
The new Roof Space 4 has a sleeping space that’s bigger than a California King sized bed, plus more room for storage. They say it sleeps up to six people, we say more realistically two adults and two small kids.
(Side Note: Roofnest just made an even bigger RTT, but it’s almost twice as tall when closed and a little bit heavier than this one.)
As big as it is, it folds over into a comparatively compact footprint on your roof, all with their signature aluminum outer shell. Basically, you get the huge space of a softshell, but the convenience and toughness of a hardshell, and now it’s bigger than ever.
Roof Space 4 is enclosed in a robust aluminum case and unfolds in under a minute with just one hand, maintaining maximum durability when closed and eliminating the need for a soft travel cover. It features a compact footprint, offering more sleeping space than a California king-size bed, plus additional storage.
It also has a double panorama mode in which both sides of the tent fully open, making it a rooftop cabana if you just wanna chill with an elevated view.

Roof Space 4 will retail for $4,599.99 and include the tent and case, TPU foam mattress, anti-condensation mat, telescoping ladder, and all mounting hardware. You can pre-order to get a 10% pre-launch discount with a $1,750 deposit. Balance is due March 31 with delivery in mid-April.
