Well, that didn’t take long… The new Roofnest Condor 2 XXL Air is now officially the largest-ever rooftop tent, stealing the title from the Roof Space 4 that launched just a couple months ago.

And, thanks to its hardshell design, it also opens faster than any tent they’ve ever made, popping open and deploying its rainfly in just seconds.

Designed for families and groups, this mammoth tent offers 51 square feet of sleeping space while maintaining the convenience of a hardshell design.

With a 95″ x 80″ mattress (over 51 sq. ft.!), they say it sleeps four adults plus a couple of furry friends.

For comparison, a King-size mattress is 76″ x 80″, and the Roof Space 4’s mattress is 80.7″ x 78.7″.

Quick Setup

They say it’s the fastest deploying rooftop tent they’ve ever made, and that this design will inform future models, too. Good news if you don’t want or need something so big.

Quick deployment is achieved with internal U-bars that open with the soft canopy and create the shape of the tent. A simple rainfly canopy automatically pops into place when you open it, too.

An additional supported flap can be deployed for full coverage in all weather conditions. Other than that, it’s basically read to use as soon as you open it.

Exterior Features

The Condor 2 XXL Air’s hardshell is made of a durable PC-ABS that’s compounded—not laminated—with UV stabilizers to prevent fading, bubbling, or peeling, then finished with a rugged matte LINE-X coating.

When closed, the shell supports up to 150 pounds on top using optional accessory crossbars. You’ll need to remove your gear to open the tent for sleeping, though.

It comes with a 7.5-foot telescoping ladder, with an optional second ladder available for the rear window so people can get out the other side without waking you up.

Interior Features

The massive 95″ x 80″ interior comes with a 2″ thick inflatable, foam-core air mattress, which can remain inflated even when you close the tent. It even comes complete with fitted and top sheets made from 100% bamboo and a puffy blanket.

Storage options include a six-pocket gear grid that attaches to the top shell, two deeper pockets for shoes, bottles, etc., on either side of the top shell, and two additional three-pocket sets that can attach either inside or outside the tent.

Tent walls are a thick, insulative 280-GSM blackout tent material, with an unzip-to-reveal translucent moonroof. Three dimmable LED light strips are built in, and standard HVAC ports let you connect portable air conditioners or heaters.
