The new Super Pacific CloudCap brings full integration between camper van and rooftop tent, making it easier to add sleeping space to your Sprinter or Transit.
Unlike conventional rooftop tents that require you to go outside to open, close, and enter them, the CloudCap mounts nearly flush with the roof and adds an access port just behind the front seats.
An internal latch lets you open and close it from the inside, so you never have to climb out…great for inclement weather. Or Walmart parking lots. Then use the pull cord to pull it back down and close it.
It’s shown here opening to the front, but you can have it installed so it opens to the rear instead.
Either way, it puts the tent at the front of the van, leaving some space for bulkier cargo at the rear. And it has T-track slots on the front and sides, on both the base and the top, letting you add accessories like awnings, light bars, etc.
The top can also handle solar panels (up to 630W) plus cross bars for bikes, kayaks, storage boxes, etc. So, unlike many RTTs, you aren’t giving up storage space on the roof. It’ll even lift up with gear on top thanks to gas struts.
The standard included struts will lift and hold the top open with up to 50-75lbs of gear on top. Upgrade to heavy-duty struts to increase that up to 150lbs.
The skeleton is extruded aluminum, and the roof and base are 1/2″ honeycomb composite panels. They’re strong enough to support your gear, and to walk on. Or, if your son is like mine and absolutely must sleep outside on the roof, it’ll work for that, too…as long as they’re under 300lbs.
You can even mount a MaxxAir vent fan to it, placing it over the cabin pass-thru, so it works whether the tent is open or closed.
The tent itself is full featured, too, with mesh storage net, supported pop-out vents for airflow, 270ยบ screened in windows with storm flaps, and their (optional) ThermaPuff Insulation Kit for total four-season use.
It comes with an and self-inflating ExPed Megamat Duo LW+ mattress, which measures 77.6″ x 52″ x 4″ and sleeps two. Once you’re inside the tent, a panel covers the opening, so you can slide the mattress forward a bit to create more space for your feet. Deflate it before closing the tent and you can leave it in there. (Side note: A new, thicker 6″ Megamat Max Duo comes out early 2025)

It’s designed and built in Oregon, USA, and is more expensive than a typical RTT at $12,200, but the price includes professional installation at one of 50+ dealers.
Find a good van builder/dealer and they might even be able to install on your full-size van, too, or reposition the tent to the back half of your roof.
