Canada’s family-owned Tufport has been in the business of manufacturing rugged campers, van toppers, and pickup truck slide-ins for almost 50 years. Their newest addition, the Overlander, is an ultralight 4×4 camper insert that takes a minimalist approach to adventure.

Tufport says that the all-season, all-terrain Overlander is the sleekest, most aerodynamic model yet. The Overlander is 64.5″ tall on the inside with an internal width of 72″, so it will fit in your mid or full-size truckbed… as long as it’s 6′ or 6.5′ in length.

The rounded, smooth shape of the over-cab area offers low wind resistance, with very little overhang on the side of the bed, too. It’s relatively light, and internally, weight is kept low to maintain a low center of gravity.

Using R22 insulation, and the optional heater, the Overlander should keep you warm and toasty, no matter the frightful weather outside.

There are quite a few layout options making the Overlander slide-in perfect for two campers.

How’s it Made?

The Overlander is made using a one-piece composite design, which is not only lighter and stronger than its predecessors, but also more durable without giving up any features.

Tufport uses no wood in the construction of the Overlander, virtually eliminating the threat of rot or mold. The one-piece design also means zero leaks, and no pointy or sharp angles that are prone to breakage.
