Type 2 Campers trailer pulls serious VW Bus vibes

Type 2 campers T2.3 VW bus style trailer camper with pop up top roof

Like the idea of a VW bus as a camper but love the idea of a reliable vehicle that can handle modern highway speeds? The new Type 2 Campers let you have both, with a sleek camper trailer built with authentic steel replacement panels mimicking the classic VW bus.

The body is steel, assembled similar to an aircraft. The composite roof pops up to create more height, up to 6’4″ inside. The campers measure 9’6″ long (excluding hitch assembly), 5′ wide, and 7′ tall with the roof down and secured for driving.

With curb weights ranging from 900-980lbs, they’re light enough to tow with your EV, but sleep up to three people (a four-person model is coming later).

Three floorplans are offered, all three with a U-shaped seating area that converts to a 6′ bed. Basic details are:

  • Sleeper – Cubbies, countertop, coat closet
  • Sleeper+ – Adds water heater & hot/cold outdoor shower
  • Kitchenette – Adds dining table, induction cooktop & stainless steel sink

Starting prices range from $29,950 to $39,000 and require a non-refundable $1,000 deposit to get your order going.
