The latest floorplan from Vanspeed is inspired by coastal travel, the new California Coast option is made to haul surfboards inside while keeping beach sand out.
Like most Sprinter conversions, it’s optimized for two travelers, with a dining area that transforms to a bed. Surf boards hang from the ceiling, or stuff deflated paddle boards under the bed from the back.
An outdoor shower hookup lets you rinse off before entering, and rinse your gear, too. That’s serviced by a larger 25-gallon tank that’s separate from the kitchen sink’s water supply.
A full kitchen area fills the driver’s side wall, offering more cooking and prep space than most. A two-burner induction cooktop, Isotherm 85L drawer fridge and freezer combo, and plenty of lighting make meal time easy.
It has a 6-gallon freshwater tank for washing and drinking. A city water filling input makes it easy to top off the tanks, and marine high-flow pump and Moen faucet make it feel like home.
The interior is lined with Baltic Birch plywood and no-scratch laminates, all-terrain vinyl flooring, and Sunbrella upholstery and marine-grade fabrics throughout.
Cabinets over the drive side, under the bed, and below the kitchen surface provide plenty of storage.
Amenities, including a Deluxe Maxi Air ceiling vent fan is powered by a 215Ah AGM battery (upgrade to Lithium if desired) with a 190-watt solar panel on top and 2000w Xantrex inverter/charger managing it. Shore power hookups provide endless power wherever you’re able to plug in.
The Vanspeed California Coast is built on the Mercedes Sprinter 144″ chassis and starts at $69,000 for the conversion…the cost of the van is separate, and you can bring your own if you want. Vanspeed is RVIA-certified, so they can offer in-house financing, which generally means lower “RV” rates and longer terms if you want a minimal monthly payment.
Lots of upgrades and options are available, from fabric colors and styles to full exterior bumpers, racks, and lights. Inside, upgrade with better sound systems, additional insulation, heating/cooling systems, etc.
